re multiple maps (Free Open GPS NZ Autorouting and , NZ-Topo) loaded into a Vista Hcx together. The maps cohabit fine and I've been using them for around a year (with only one mapset active at a time).
The problem is this: If only "Free Open GPS NZ Autorouting" is used to create gmapsupp, the Find Address has no problem locating (for example) "308 Two Chain Rd" (with default Region: New Zealand and nothing specified for city. When both maps are present in gmapsupp, the find fails irrespective of which mapset is hidden.
I actually have a third map included usually - "NZ Tramping tracks - DOC only" - and the problem appears to get even worse.
After doing a bit of experimenting, it looks like NZ Tramping tracks includes 16 cities, GTMaps includes 570 cities, and Open GPS NZ Autorouting includes approx 2800 cities.
When the maps are all sent to the GPS as one GMAPSUPP.IMG file, it looks like the smallest "Address Index" is always used - irrespective of which map set is HIDEn/SHOWing.
I note that GTMAPS uses a region of "NzI" and the NZ Autorouting maps use a region of "New Zealand". When combined, the one and only region is "New Zealand".
It is possible to select on <Enter City" and then go to a sub menu which allows a mapset to be selected. But who wants to scroll through thousands of "cities" looking for a likely candidate before entering a street name and number?
Is their a simple solution?
Thanks - Warwick
PS: The Topo maps are really great.
