Just spotted another error. The Manaohou Right Branch Hut at E2852173 N6302570 is located twice. The incorrect location is at E2851105 N6302598.

I assume this is because there is some old LINZ data in there. LINZ used to have all its huts located at the bottom LH corner of the name label on the 1:50,000 maps , which of course put them to the west of the actual location.

I am planning a trip there, but havn't been there yet so can't be 100% sure there isn't another hut at the more westerly location.

Ah - that could be my error. You're right that there are the old 'wrong place' markers in the data - and sometimes there are corrected ones.
What I do is take both lots of data - and when there is a name match within 1km - I use only the 'correct' one. In this case - they points are over 1km apart - so it kept both. It's the best I can do for an automated system. I might have a look and see if I can set up a system for manual overrides for cases like this.

Just noticed the same problem with Mangamoko Hut at E2848900 N6313898

I found one too, Acheron Accommodation House, correct one is at S42.39545 E172.95521, the incorrect one shows up first then you need to zoom in closer for the correct one to show.
